Mayo Acosta's two-run double with two outs in the ninth forced extra innings. Wilking Rodriguez fired six shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
Hot Rods 9, South Bend 3Jeff Malm doubled, tripled, RBI'd and scored twice. Ryan Brett hit a solo home run, singled, walked and scored twice. Todd Glaesmann singled twice, walked and scored twice. Jason McEachern's 2 1/3 shutout innings left him with a buzzcut 1.08 ERA.
