Enny Romero threw two no-hit innings of relief and picked up the win with Durham's 2-0, 14-inning victory over Pawtucket on Friday.
The Bulls took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-5 International League championship series. Game 4 is Saturday at Pawtucket.
Romero, who made his Triple-A debut in the regular season's final weekend, walked three. He is not in Durham's postseason rotation.
Kirby Yates worked around two walks in the bottom of the 14th for his fourth postseason save. The Bulls used eight pitchers, who combined on a four-hitter.
Kevin Kiermaier and Cole Figueroa scored in the 14th. Vince Belnome walked four times, while Jason Bourgeois and Brandon Guyer each singled twice.
Durham finished with 16 runners on base and struck out 19 times. The Red Sox stranded 17 and had 14 whiffs.
