Left-hander Enny Romero, after shining this season for the Biscuits, will make his big league debut Sunday when he starts for Tampa Bay.
The Rays are in need after playing an 18-inning game Friday and Romero is available. Romero will be the 61st former Biscuit to reach the major leagues.
Romero was 11-7 with a 2.76 ERA for the Biscuits and was named the top left-handed starter in the Southern League. He threw eight shutout innings Sept. 2 for Triple-A Durham. In the playoffs, Romero threw two hitless innings for the Bulls.
He'll pitch against the Orioles, whose Triple-A team was the foe Sept. 2. Romero gave up four hits that day with two walks and two strikeouts.
