Odorizzi to start for Bulls in Triple-A title game

Right-hander Jake Odorizzi will start for the Durham Bulls in Tuesday's Triple-A national championship game against the Omaha Storm Chasers.

Left-hander Chris Dwyer will start for Omaha.

Odorizzi will be facing his former team. He was 11-3 with a 2.93 ERA last year for the Storm Chasers before being traded in the offseason to Tampa Bay. Odorizzi was Kansas City's minor league pitcher of the year and his 15 wins between Omaha and Double-A Northwest Arkansas last season ranked third in the minor leagues.

Odorizzi has thrown 14 shutout innings without a decision in the playoffs, giving up five hits with four walks and 16 strikeouts. He was 9-6 with a 3.33 ERA in the regular season.

Dwyer made one postseason start for Omaha, giving up a run on three hits in two innings. He was 10-11 with a 3.55 ERA in the regular season.
