Mississippi Braves in playoffs for first time since '08

Christian Marrero scored on an 11th-inning error and the Mississippi Braves qualified for the Southern League playoffs with a 6-5 win over the Jacksonville Suns on Monday.

Mobile beat Pensacola 10-1 to give the BayBears the second-half South Division title. Mobile also won the first half.

Mississippi gets in with the second-best South Division overall record, but the BayBears will host four of the five playoff games, if necessary.

The M-Braves last reached the playoffs in 2008. The Pensacola Blue Wahoos now have the longest postseason drought, though that comes with an asterisk. They last made it as the Carolina Mudcats in 2008.
