Hueytown's Jameis Winston, an elite football recruit who has committed to Florida State, is one of three Alabama players on Baseball America's early 2012 top-50 draft list.
Winston, who was the star of July's North-South All-Star doubleheader at Riverwalk Stadium, ranks 47th nationally. Winston said in July, before announcing his college choice, that he would go with baseball if he were taken in the first round.
Outfielder David Dahl of Oak Mountain High near Birmingham is eighth, while Samford left-handed pitcher Lex Rutledge is 46th.
