Pitcher James Shields, one of the Original Biscuits in 2004, is being nominated by the Tampa Bay Rays for this year's Roberto Clemente award.
The award, named for the Hall of Fame outfielder, recognizes a major leaguer for their positive contributions on and off the field, including sportsmanship and community involvement. It's the second straight season Tampa Bay has nominated Shields.
