Heard an ESPN announcer say umpire Jim Joyce "cheated" the fans in Detroit out of a perfect game with the missed call with two outs in the ninth. How many pitchers have cheated fans out of perfect games with bad pitching?
Just heard former GM J.P. Ricciardi wonder why Joyce was looking at first baseman Miguel Cabrera fielding the ball instead of looking immediately at first. Well, speaking as a former youth baseball and softball umpire, that's what they're trained to do.
Bad commentary tonight. Almost -- almost -- as bad as the call.

So, should Selig overrule the umpire, declare the runner out, and give the kid a perfect game? Could open up a BIG can of worms for the future, but...
