Cobb to have season-ending surgery

Rays pitcher Alex Cobb, a star last year with the Biscuits, is scheduled to have season-ending surgery Friday. He'll have a blockage near his first right rib removed at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Cobb made his major league debut this season and was 3-2 with a 3.42 ERA in nine starts.

Do you know if this blockage is considered responsible for his numb hand/dead arm feeling, or is this a different injury?
