Biscuits starter Nick Barnese had little control, lasted just two innings and left with Montgomery trailing 7-0. Four of the runs were earned. Barnese needed 70 pitches to record six outs. He also gave up four hits, issued three walks and tossed three wild pitches.
Barnese fended off a trainer's visit to the mound after he started the game with eight straight balls. As reliever Sergio Espinosa takes the mound, Montgomery's training staff is still in the dugout, which would seem to indicate that Barnese currently feels healthy.
