Tennessee first baseman Rebel Ridling, who sports a 13-game hitting streak, and Birmingham left-hander Hector Santiago, who has a shutout streak, won the Southern League's player of the week awards today.
Ridling was 12-for-25 with 11 RBIs for the week ending Sunday and has a .311 average, 20 home runs and 78 RBIs this year. Santiago was 2-0 and didn't allow a run in 13 innings for the week. He's 7-5 with a 3.61 ERA in 14 starts for the Barons.
