Mudcats, Stars feature SL's weekly winners

Carolina first baseman Neftali Soto and Huntsville right-hander Michael Fiers won the Southern League's weekly awards. Soto hit .379 with four home runs, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored for the week ending Sunday. Fiers -- in what the league's release called "a display of absolute ferocity" -- allowed one hit over six shutout innings and struck out nine to beat Mississippi on Wednesday.
