St. James alum Brandon Kloess, who was in Triple-A earlier this season but has been at high-Class A for most of the year, has been promoted to the Double-A Birmingham Barons.
Kloess is in the Chicago White Sox organization and had a 2.77 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 39 innings at high-Class A Winston-Salem. He also has four appearances at Triple-A Charlotte.
The 26-year-old right-hander is in his third professional season.
