Alex Colome won his fourth straight start Tuesday, firing seven innings in the Biscuits' 2-0 victory over the Jackson Generals.
Colome gave up four hits with three walks and six strikeouts. In his last four starts, the right-hander has a 1.04 ERA with 15 hits allowed, 15 walks and 27 strikeouts in 26 innings.
The Biscuits scored in the eighth when Shawn O'Malley drew a two-out walk and scored on a balk and in the ninth on Brett Nommensen's third home run.
Marquis Fleming and Chris Rearick each threw a hitless inning, giving Montgomery its sixth shutout this season.
Mikie Mahtook made his Biscuits debut with a ninth-inning, pinch-hit strikeout.
