Lori Webb, who has helped run the Southern League since 1994, has been named the league's president.
Webb is the first female league president in the history of minor league baseball. She's been the league's corporate secretary and treasurer since 2000 and assisted former president Don Mincher. Mincher retired after last year and died in March. Mississippi Braves general manager Steve DeSalvo has been the interim president.
