Derek Dietrich and Mikie Mahtook each hit their first Double-A home runs in a seven-run second inning that lifted the Biscuits to an 8-3 win over the Mississippi Braves on Thursday.
Dietrich hit a two-run home run to start the scoring and Mahtook cracked a two-out grand slam to end it.
Nick Barnese threw a season-high six innings, giving up two runs, for his second win. Mayo Acosta doubled in Kyeong Kang for the only second-inning not involving Dietrich or Mahtook. In the fifth, Mike Sheridan singled and scored on a two-out error.
