Mark Thomas hit a two-run triple and the Biscuits rallied for a 4-2 win over Pensacola on Wednesday in the completion of a game from Tuesday night.
Thomas, who was at bat and faced a 2-0 count with two runners on base when rain suspended play Tuesday, hit a 3-1 pitch into the left-center field gap. It gave the Biscuits a 3-2 lead. Thomas scored on a Kevin Kiermaier flyout to put Montgomery ahead by two.
Merrill Kelly, who was on the hook for a potential loss when the rains came Tuesday, was still the pitcher of record when the Biscuits took the lead. He's now won three of his last four starts and is 5-5.
Austin Hubbard worked an eight-pitch eighth before C.J. Riefenhauser pitched the ninth for his seventh save.
