Thursday: Lookouts 8, Biscuits 3

Joc Pederson homered twice and the Chattanooga Lookouts tied a season high with four home runs in an 8-3 win over the Biscuits on Thursday.

Pederson hit a two-run homer and Angelo Songo added a three-run blast in Chattanooga's five-run first inning. The Lookouts scored five runs before recording an out.

Pederson hit a solo homer and J.T. Wise a two-run shot in a three-run seventh inning. Pederson has 13 homers this year and is tied for second in the Southern League.

Biscuits starter Victor Mateo, after the five-run first, kept the Lookouts at bay until the sixth. Austin Hubbard came on in the seventh.

Mateo (2-8) has given up 10 home runs this year and is tied with Jake Thompson for the team lead. Hubbard had not served up a homer this season. The Biscuits lead the league with 69 homers allowed.

Montgomery had not allowed four homers in a game since a 12-9 home win over the Carolina Mudcats on Aug. 26, 2011.
