Birmingham outfielder Trayce Thompson and Chattanooga right-hander Duke von Schamann were the Southern League's weekly award winners.
Thompson was 10-for-23 with three home runs and nine RBIs for the week. On Sunday, he homered twice and had five RBIs, including a three-run homer in a five-run ninth that gave the Barons a 9-8 win over Jackson.
He's hitting .255 with eight homers and 40 RBIs this year.
Von Schamann, in his first two starts of the year with the Lookouts, gave up one run over 12 innings, including a 10-strikeout debut.
He started the year at high-Class A Rancho Cucamonga and was 8-2 with a 4.34 ERA. Von Schamann made one start at Chattanooga to end last season.
P.S.: Longtime major leaguer Roy Oswalt, trying to make a comeback in the Colorado organization won the Texas League's weekly pitching award. he threw 8 1/3 shutout innings Friday and is 3-2 with a 2.16 ERA in five starts.
