Jackson outfielder Julio Morban and Mobile left-hander Andrew Chafin won the Southern League's weekly awards.
Morban was 9-for-22 for the week with nine RBIs and six runs scored. On Saturday, he doubled twice, homered, had five RBIs and scored three times in a 10-5 win over Mobile.
Morban, after reaching enough plate appearances to qualify, leads the league with a .328 average. He has 30 RBIs and 23 runs in 51 games.
Chafin threw a seven-hitter with one walk and eight strikeouts Friday in a 5-1 win over Morban and the Generals. Morban had two hits. Chafin is 4-4 with a 2.56 ERA in nine starts.
The BayBears have won a weekly award six times by six different players. The Generals have three.
