Biscuits manager Billy Gardner said moving Mikie Mahtook to second in the order is an attempt to get the outfielder more fastballs. He called it "a change of scenery in the lineup."
Mahtook is 0-for-14 in his last four games and hitting .121 in his last 10 games.
"He's been seeing a lot of breaking balls," Gardner said. "Any time you're in the middle of the lineup, teams really bear down on you there. Having him behind (Kevin) Kiermaier and in front of (Cameron) Seitzer, hopefully he'll see more fastballs and we'll get him heated up again."
