Jake Thompson came within one out of the first nine-inning complete game of his career in the Biscuits' 2-1 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts on Monday.
Thompson (10-9) gave up five hits, the last a two-out double in the ninth by Jon Garcia that ended his night. After Braulio Lara gave up an RBI single to Joc Pederson, Juan Sandoval recorded the final out.
Thompson walked none, struck out five and recorded 11 groundball outs.
Todd Glaesmann tripled and scored on a Curt Casali groundout for Montgomery's first run in the second inning. Cameron Seitzer homered in the fourth.
Thompson is the first Biscuits pitcher to reach 10 wins since Alex Torres in 2010.
