Biscuits left-hander Enny Romero is being promoted to Triple-A Durham and will debut for the Bulls in Monday's regular-season finale, Adam Sobsey of the Independent Weekly reports.
Romero has won 11 games this year for Montgomery, which is tied for the Southern League lead. That's more victories than he's totaled in any previous two years of his combined.
Hitters have a .215 average against the the 22-year-old, a number that leads the league among qualifying pitchers. He's also fifth with a 2.76 ERA and is second with 73 walks. Romero also has 110 strikeouts in 140 1/3 innings.
Romero is 12-of-27 on quality starts this year. The Biscuits are 13-14 and have averaged 3.6 runs in his starts. Only Merrill Kelly, of those who have started more than two games this year, received less run support. (Kelly's 12 starts: 2.6 runs per game.)
4:50 update: Biscuits announce that Romero has been promoted.
