Victor Mateo, in his first start since last weekend's no-hitter, threw seven strong innings in the Biscuits' 6-2 win over the Birmingham Barons on Friday.
Mateo (7-9) gave up one earned run on four hits to record his fourth straight quality start.
Delmon Young and Shawn O'Malley homered in support of Mateo. O'Malley hit a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning. Young hit a two-run blase in the fifth to give the Biscuits a 5-1 lead.
Montgomery has won 10 of its last 13 games.
