The Rays have added outfielder David DeJesus in trade from the Washington Nationals, and he's expected to join the team in time for tonight's game against the Yankees.
DeJesus is an 11-year veteran who was just traded to the Nationals from the Cubs on Monday. In 87 total games this year, he has a .247 average. The 33-year-old has also played for the Royals and A's.
What do the Nats get in return? A player to be named or cash considerations.
4 p.m. update: To make space for Dejesus, the Rays designated Jason Bourgeois for assignment, according to the Tampa Bay Times and Tampa Tribune.
