Outfielder Delmon Young, the Biscuits' most valuable player in 2005, is reportedly returning to the Tampa Bay Rays.
Young, released this month by the Philadelphia Phillies, has signed with the Rays, according to Fox Sports and confirmed by the Tampa Bay Times and Tampa Tribune.
The 27-year-old hit .261 with eight home runs in 80 games for the Phillies. He last played Aug. 8.
Young, born in Montgomery, was the Southern League's MVP in 2005 when he hit .336 with 20 homers and 71 RBIs in 84 games.
