Scott Krieger’s seventh-inning home run lifted the Huntsville Stars to a 3-2 win over the Montgomery Biscuits on Friday. It was Krieger’s first Double-A home run and came in his second Double-A game. He was a 19th-round draft pick in 2009.
Emeel Salem scored twice for the Biscuits. He doubled and scored on a Nevin Ashley single in the first inning. In the fifth, he reached on an error and scored on a Chris De La Cruz double.
Biscuits pitcher David Newmann made a quality start in a no-decision. He allowed two runs on seven hits and no walks in six innings. Rayner Oliveros (0-4) took the loss.
