Mike Stanton, the top prospect among position players in the minor leagues, hit a prodigious home run Thursday to lead the Jacksonville Suns in a 9-3 win over the Montgomery Biscuits.
Stanton’s two-run homer in the sixth inning cleared the scoreboard in left-center field at Riverwalk Stadium. It was his 14th homer of the season, which leads the entire minor leagues. Ryan Curry and Tim Torres also homered for the Suns.
Montgomery, which had a five-game win streak snapped, committed a season-high four errors.
