Alex Torres worked seven innings and combined with Dane De La Rosa on a four-hitter to lead the Montgomery Biscuits to a 2-0 win over the Huntsville Stars on Thursday.
Torres (4-2) gave up three hits, walked two and struck out three. It was Montgomery’s fifth shutout of the season, matching last year’s total.
John Matulia tripled and scored in the third inning to give the Biscuits a 1-0 lead. He threw out a runner at the plate in the fifth to preserve it. In the sixth, Chris Nowak doubled and scored on a wild pitch.
