John Matulia’s seventh-inning flyout brought home Greg Sexton with the go-ahead run in the Montgomery Biscuits’ 3-2 win over the Huntsville Stars on Monday.
Matt Fields homered and Jeremy Hall had a strong start for the Biscuits. Hall allowed one run on four hits, walked none and struck out six over six innings. Fields hit a solo home run to lead off the second. In the fifth, Cody Strait reached on an error and scored on an Emeel Salem groundout.
Hall left with a 2-1 lead. Dane De La Rosa (3-0) gave up the tying run in the top of the seventh before the Biscuits retook the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Matt Gorgen worked the ninth for his sixth save.
