Jeremy Hall’s second straight exceptional start led the Biscuits in a 7-2 win over the Tennessee Smokies on Thursday.
Hall gave up three hits over eight shutout innings -- the first hit came with two outs in the fifth -- and has thrown 15 straight shutout innings. He’s now 2-2 with a 2.94 ERA this season. He’s also the first Biscuits starter to throw eight innings this year.
J.J. Furmaniak had RBI singles in the first and third innings to put the Biscuits ahead 2-0. Chris De La Cruz added a run-scoring triple in the fourth, Matt Fields had a two-run single in the fifth and Emeel Salem a two-run triple in the eighth.
The Biscuits, a day after mustering just three hits in a shutout loss, tapped out 14, their most at home this season.
