29th overall draft pick, Rays agree on contract

Ryne Stanek, Tampa Bay's second pick in last month's draft, and the Rays have agreed to terms.

The right-handed pitcher from the University of Arkansas will start working out Wednesday at the team's complex in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Stanek was the 29th overall pick and was 10-2 with a 1.39 ERA in 16 starts for the Razorbacks this year. The Rays have signed 33 of their 41 picks.

According to Baseball America, Stanek will receive a signing bonus of $1,758,300.
