Casali sent from Stone Crabs to Biscuits

Hearing that catcher Curt Casali has been promoted from Charlotte to the Biscuits. Casali, picked up in a spring trade from the Detroit Tigers, was hitting .267 in 46 games for the Stone Crabs. He had five home runs and 22 RBIs.

Update: Confirmed. Casali is driving to Montgomery today, manager Billy Gardner said. The Biscuits will activate him in time  for Tuesday's game with Jacksonville. The Biscuits currently have 24 active players, according to Minor League Baseball, one less than the Southern League limit.

Mark Thomas and Mayo Acosta have equally shared Montgomery's catching duties this year. However, Acosta caught six straight games before Thomas played today.
