Biscuits put Thomas on restricted list

Biscuits catcher Mark Thomas has been put on the restricted list for unknown reasons.

With the addition of catcher Curt Casali from high-Class A Charlotte, the Biscuits list their roster at the Southern League limit of 25 players. However, the roster at Minor League Baseball still lists 24 active players (with Thomas and without Casali).

Thomas has a career-worst .151 average in 53 games in his second season with Montgomery. After starting the year as the priority catcher, he has been equally sharing catching duties with Mayo Acosta. However, Acosta started six straight games before Thomas caught Monday.

The Stone Crabs have also switched out infielders. They've added Jonathan Quinonez from short-season Class A Hudson Valley and demoted Enmanuel Paulino to Rookie-level Princeton. Paulino was hitting .261 in eight games for Charlotte.

Quinonez had a .337 average in 25 games for the Renegades. Paulino was hitting .261 in eight games with Charlotte.
