The Birmingham Barons swept the Southern League player of the week awards.
Infielder Marcus Semien was 14-for-24 with four home runs, 12 runs scored and 11 RBIs for the week. He's hitting .288 with 82 walks and 88 runs scored for the season.
Left-hander Scott Snodgress threw 14 1/3 shutout innings with five hits allowed and seven walks for the week. In his last four starts, he's 3-0 with an 0.33 ERA. Snodgress is 11-7 with a 3.88 ERA for the season.
The Barons have had five weekly award winners this year. This is the third time one team has swept a week's awards.
