Wade Davis was still spewing steam in the seventh inning when he came out, hitting 92 mph on the stadium radar gun (which translates to about 94 in real life).
Nice start: 6 1/3 innings, seven hits, two runs (one earned), NO walks and nine strikeouts. The nine strikeouts are the most by a Biscuits pitcher this year. He registered 95 mph on a fourth-inning strikeout -- remember, add two, so that was probably 97 -- and his curveball was mighty impressive.
Too bad Davis won't get the win. Ronnie Merrill just homered to tie it off reliever Nick DeBarr.
