League: Longoria over Jaso

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays' pick for a monthly award meant nothing to the Southern League.

The league named Biscuits third baseman Evan Longoria its top player for the month of May on Tuesday, a day after the Devil Rays tabbed Biscuits catcher John Jaso as the top player in their organization.

Longoria hit .317 with seven home runs, six doubles, 21 runs scored and 25 RBIs in May.
Jaso had a .374 average, four home runs, 10 doubles, 15 runs scored and 24 RBIs.

You say "to-MA-toe." I say "ta-mah-toe."
