The Tampa Bay bullpen couldn't mess this one up.
Andy Sonnanstine, the Biscuits' MVP last year, picked up his first major-league victory today with the Devil Rays' 9-4 victory over the Florida Marlins. Sonnanstine worked seven innings, allowing seven hits and two runs (both on solo homers). He walked none and struck out 10.
Sonnanstine helped his own cause with a bat. He was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored.
Of course, the Rays blew a five-run lead in the ninth inning of Sonnanstine's debut last week at Toronto.
