Tampa Bay scouting director talks about Price

Devil Rays scouting director R.J. Harrison on why the team picked David Price ...

"When it's all said and done, we thought he was the best fit for us. We think he was the best guy to pick from, and we had them all to choose from."

on the negotiations ...
"That process will start tomorrow and we'll see what happens."

on picking first ...
"If you're going to pick way at the top, it might as well be at the very top. It also means you have no excuses. You can take the guy at the top of your list. We were fortunate enough last year to get the guy at the top of our list. I must be a pretty lucky guy. The two years I've been scouting director, we've gotten the guy we wanted both years. Now, we have to get him signed." (The Rays picked Biscuits third baseman Evan Longoria third overall last year.)

on where Price could debut (Montgomery?!?) ...
"That's something the organization will have to decide, if and when we get him signed."
