Right-handed pitcher Wade Davis, after representing the Vero Beach Devil Rays in tonight's Florida State League All-Star Game, will move up to the Biscuits.
The 21-year-old is tentatively scheduled to start for Montgomery on Wednesday against the Mobile BayBears.
Davis was 3-0 with a 1.84 ERA in 13 starts for Vero Beach, where he totaled 21 walks, 88 strikeouts and a .196 average against in 78 1/3 innings. On Monday, he gave up two hits in 6 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out a season-high 13.
"I think I'll be able to come up there, do the same thing and get the job done," Davis said.
Davis, a third-round draft pick in 2004, is Tampa Bay's No. 8 prospect, according to Baseball America. Last year, Davis ranked second in the Midwest League with 165 strikeouts, six behind teammate Jake McGee.
