The Biscuits celebrated a second straight walk-off victory Wednesday afternoon when Cody Cipriano in the ninth inning to give Montgomery a 2-1 win over the Jacksonville Suns.
Cipriano led off the ninth with a triple high off the wall in left-center field. After Greg Sexton walked for the third time, pitcher Matt Peterson threw wildly on a pickoff to first, allowing Cipriano to score.
Biscuits starter Jake McGee, who was on a short pitch-count leash, needed 33 pitches to weather the first inning and lasted just 2 1/3. Relievers Alex Cobb, Justin Garcia and Paul Phillips (2-1) combined for 6 2/3 shutout innings.
