The Pensacola Blue Wahoos tied a season high with 13 hits and cracked three home runs to avoid a five-game series sweep with Sunday's 8-2 win over the Biscuits.
Bryson Smith, Travis Mattair and Mike Gilmartin each homered for Pensacola which led 7-0 after Biscuits starter Victor Mateo's three innings and 8-0 after five. Smith and Mattair hit back-to-back home runs in the third inning.
Mateo (1-4) gave up eight hits with a walk and two strikeouts, while Andrew Bellatti allowed one run over four hits in three innings.
C.J. Riefenhauser worked a scoreless seventh inning and extended his shutout streak to 16 2/3 innings. He has an 0.46 ERA in 12 appearances this season.
