Former Biscuits catcher Matt Spring will finally have All-Star on his resume, too.
Spring, now with Double-A Portland in the Boston organization, will play in the first All-Star Game of his 10-year career Tuesday. The New Britain Rock Cats are hosting.
Spring has a .255 average in 30 games with six home runs and 26 RBIs. The 28-year-old was a .210 hitter over four seasons with Montgomery.
