Jacksonville State outfielder Todd Cunningham became the state's first draft pick when he went in the second round (53rd overall) to the Atlanta Braves.
Cunningham hit .359 for the Gamecocks, who reached the NCAA tournament. He scored 61 runs, was 21-of-23 on steals and had 32 extra-base hits. He was the Cape Cod League's batting champion last year.
