Rich Poythress' grand slam highlighted a six-run seventh inning that gave the Jackson Generals a 7-4 win over the Biscuits on Monday. All six runs came against reliever Matt Bush.
Montgomery led 4-0 after a half-inning, a rally capped by Matt Sweeney's three-run double. Biscuits starter Nick Barnese threw four shutout innings, allowing four hits and two walks on 82 pitches.
The Biscuits had three hits in the first and, after a Reid Fronk leadoff single in the second, didn't notch another. Following a Kyeong Kang walk with two outs in the third, Montgomery's last 19 batters failed to reach base.
Erasmo Ramirez took the first seven innings with Taylor Stanton polishing off the last two.
