Jacksonville's Joey O'Gara won the Southern League's weekly pitching award after a dominating start Thursday.
O'Gara allowed one hit and one unearned run over eight innings to beat Mobile. The hit came in the second inning and the run in a two-error third. After a sixth-inning walk, O'Gara retired the final nine batters he faced. His totals: one walk, one hit batsman, nine strikeouts.
Birmingham outfielder Justin Greene, his week capped by a two-double Sunday vs. the Biscuits, was the top hitter. He was 10-for-23 with nine RBIs and six runs scored. Greene is hitting .299 this year.
