Kevin Brandt's hitless Midwest League debut for the Bowling Green Hot Rods won him a Midwest League award.
Brandt won the MWL's pitcher of the week award today after throwing six no-hit innings in his debut last week.
Brandt, who starts tonight at South Bend, walked one and struck out three in a no-decision last Monday at Lake County. The left-hander, an 18th-round draft pick last year from East Carolina, started the season at Hudson Valley and was 4-3 with a 2.00 ERA.
Bowling Green has won five of the MWL's weekly awards this year -- all pitchers (three by Jeff Ames).
