State's prep coaches handing out $ at Riverwalk

Slocomb High's Clay Holmes will receive a $2,000 scholarship from the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association at Riverwalk Stadium on Sunday before the Biscuits play Jacksonville. Holmes is the association's student-athlete of the year. Russellville's T.J. Lindsey, Athens' Luke Mould and Fayette County's Evan Sims each will get a $1,500 scholarship.

The $2,000 scholarship is named for Joe Mason, a Milwaukee Brewers scout who lives in Millbrook. Mason scouts Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee.
