John Matulia singled home Daniel Mayora in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Biscuits to a 5-4 win over the Jackson Generals on Tuesday.
Mayora doubled to lead off the inning and went to third on a Henry Wrigley single. After the Generals walked Nevin Ashley intentionally, Matulia singled up the middle against a drawn-in infield.
Mayora scored three runs, including a solo home run to lead off the seventh. In the second, he and Wrigley scored on an Ashley single. Cody Cipriano doubled in Matulia for Montgomery’s second seventh-inning run.
Matt Bush (2-1) picked up the fourth victory of his professional career.
