Tyler Bortnick was 5-for-5 with a walk and was a home run shy of the cycle. He had two RBIs and a run scored. Hak-Ju Lee led off the game with a homer and finished 4-for-5 with two RBIs, two runs and a walk. Dustin Biell scored three times on his two hits and a walk. He also had two RBIs. Mark Thomas had three hits, two runs and two RBIs.
Hot Rods 5, South Bend 4Luke Bailey's three-run homer with two outs in the ninth won it. Nick Schwaner homered and Bailey hit an RBI single in the seventh after the Rods trailed 4-0. Austin Hubbard's shutout ninth, which included a hit and two walks, pushed him to 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA.
